Pakistan Under-19s Beat UAE Under-19s by 70 Runs

Pakistan Under-19s secured a dominant 70-run victory over UAE Under-19s in a virtual knockout match to qualify for the semi-finals of the U-19 Asia Cup on Tuesday. The win confirmed Pakistanโ€™s place in the final four of the tournament and underlined their strong form heading into the knockout stage.


Pakistan U-19 Batting Performance

After winning the toss, Pakistan Under-19s elected to bat first and posted 241 for 9 in 50 overs. The innings was anchored by Ahmed Hussain, who played a patient knock of 65 runs off 91 balls, holding the innings together under pressure.

Six of Pakistanโ€™s top seven batters scored at least 20 runs, showing depth and stability in the batting lineup. Minhas contributed 44 runs, while Hamza Zahoor added 42, forming a crucial 52-run partnership with Hussain that helped Pakistan recover after slipping to 160 for 5 in the 36th over.

Pakistan scored 124 runs in the first 29 overs and accelerated well at the death, adding 117 runs in the final 21 overs. UAE bowler Yug Sharma was the most successful, finishing with figures of 3 for 52, including two wickets in the closing overs.


UAE Under-19 Chase and Collapse

UAE Under-19s began their chase confidently, with openers Ayaan Misbah and Yayin Kiran Rai putting on 42 runs inside the first seven overs. Pakistan struck back through Abdul Subhan, who removed Rai and Zainullah Rehmani in quick succession.

Misbah continued to anchor the innings, scoring a fighting 77 off 74 balls, and added 58 runs with Prithvi Madhu for the fourth wicket. UAE were well placed at 142 for 3 in the 31st over, keeping hopes of an upset alive.

However, Misbahโ€™s run-out proved to be the turning point. UAE then suffered a dramatic collapse, losing seven wickets for just 29 runs, as Pakistanโ€™s bowlers tightened their grip on the match.


Abdul Subhan Shines as Player of the Match

Abdul Subhan delivered a match-winning spell, taking 4 for 31, while Ahmed Hussain chipped in with 1 for 23. Subhan was deservedly named Player of the Match for his decisive contribution with the ball.
